Casa Estrella is a unique three-story, open-air home on the south end of the Yelapa Bay, just above “Playa Isabel.” The house has a fully equipped kitchen, dining/living area, four sleeping areas with four double beds + mosquito nets, a shared outdoor bathroom with hot water, a front viewing patio, and a “Beach & BBQ” terrace for evening cocktails down by the water. This part of the bay is private, with no restaurants or bars, so the only sounds to keep you up at night are the crashing waves below. The house does have high-speed WiFi, which can be switched on or off…perfect for a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of life, only a quick 45-minute water taxi from Los Muertos Pier in Puerto Vallarta.
Arriving at Casa Estrella from Playa Isabel, guests should be prepared to get wet when exiting the boat, as there is no pier here (alternatively, one can exit dryly at the town pier and walk 15 minutes along the south side of the bay). Navigating the stone path from Playa Isabel, up the steps through the carved sun door, and then a short stair climb up to the top of the complex of four homes known collectively as “Casas Santa Cruz,” You’ll find the largest of the homes, Casa Estrella.
Entering into the first floor, you’ll find a full kitchen, a dining table, and a small sitting area.
Walking up from the Kitchen/Dining Room, the second floor has two double beds, a sitting area and a hammock, as well as direct access to the shared bathroom. These two sleeping areas do not have much privacy between them.
Bed #1 (swinging) and shared Sitting Area.
Bed #2 (standing) and 1st-floor Hammock.
Outdoor shared bathroom w/on-demand hot water!
Walking up a wide ladder staircase, you arrive on the third floor, which has two distinct bedrooms separated by a sliding bamboo door. Bed #3 (standing) also has a swing and a hammock, while Bed #4 (swinging), has its own hammock chair.
